• DIC plays a prominet role in promoting small scale industries by getting clearnces from various departments and authorities for developing up of small and tiny projects through single window committee.   The centre also organises various entrepreneurship development porogramme.  Schemes for development of Handicrafts industries and coir based industries will be devised.  For  educated and uneducated artisans various training programmes are arranged to promote the self employment.

• Under PMRY educated unemplyoed youths are given assistance  with loan from Banks to a maximum of Rs.1,00,000/- for settingup of self employment ventures with subsidy of 15% subject to a maximum of Rs.7,500.  The PMRY beneficiaries are specially trained for running their units successfully.

PROCEDURE
 

• Prescribed application are available in DIC for each Work/service.

• For starting small scale industry enterpreneurs have first apply to industries Department, Yanam inprescribed proforma for obtaining provisional SSI registration.

• In case of chemical and chemical based industries entrepreneurs have to first get clearances from the committee for chemical industries through the directrate of industries and then approch for provisional SSI registration.

• All the entrepreneurs irrespective of their size of investment may approch DIC for getting the said clearances.

• The DIC will forward the complete set of applications rerceived from the entrepreneurs to the Municipality.

• In turn Municipality will issue permision for the establishment of industrial units after obtaining required clearances from conserned Department.

• After construction of building and installing machinery entrepreneurs have to get licence from Municipality,Inspector of factories and consent order from Department of environment for operation of the unit.

• After commencement of regular production the entrepreneurs have to apply for permenent registration to the directrate of industries through District Industries Centre(DIC).

• The training scheme is meant for the educated unemployed youth to develop their skill.

• The Candidates who passes 8th class certificate are elgible to undergo training in this scheme.

• The period of training is for one year and age limit is 18 to 30 years.

•   The Raw material Wastage paid to the unit is Rs.150.

• The trades are Tailoring, Machine Operators, Fitter, Electricians, Radio & T.V.Mechanisam, Composing and Printing, Floor Supervisors, Computer Operator Trainees,Post Graduate/Graduate Engineer trainee.

• Under inplant training scheme the candidates trained year wise are furnished bellow.

HANDICRAFTS TRAINING SCHEME

• The Handicrafts training scheme is meant for uneducated unemployed  youth to develope their skills in Handicrafts.
• The candidates who can read  me write are elgible for undergoing to training under the scheme (Preference will be given to the educated people).
• The period of training is one year and age limit is 18 to 30 years.

• The handi crafts are, Embroidary and Art Painting, Zeri work, Pot Embozing, Toys & Dolls, Shell Crafts.

COIR TRAINING SCHEME

•  The scheme is for educated unemployed youth.
• The candidates who can read and write are elgible to undergo training in this scheme.
• The period of training is for 6 months and age limit is 18 to 30 years.

Under Coir training scheme the candidates trained year wise are  as follows.

PRIME MINISTER ROZGAR YOJANA SCHEME

• The PMRY scheme has been designed to provide, employment to the educated unemployed youth by setting up of self employment ventures through industry, service, and business routes.
• The scheme covers all educated unemployement youth who are class X passed or failed ,ITI passed, and persons who have undergone the government sponsored technical courses for a minimum duration of l-6 months.
• They should be within the age group of 18 to 35 years. Family income should not be exceed 24,000 per annum.
• Candidate should not be a defaulter to any Nationalised Bank/Financial Institution / Co-operative Bank.
• Project Cost upto one lakh are covered under the scheme in case of individuals.
• The candidate should be a permanent resident to the area for atleast 3 years.
• Enterpreneur is requised to contribute 5% of project cost as margin money in cash.
• The loan would not require any colletaral guarentee.
• Only assets Created Under the scheme would be Hypothicated to Bank.
• The government will provide subsidy at the rate of 15% of the project subject to a ceiling of 7,500 per enterpreneur.
• The repayment schedule would range from 3 to 7 years after an inital monotorium of 6 to 18 monts.
• The scheme envisages compulsory training for entrepremeur for a period of 10 days after the loan is sanctioned.
