EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE BUREAU

• The Employment Information and Assistance Bureau has been  started functioning in Yanam region since 1980 with one  Employment Information Assistant (EIA). For any registration,  renewal, additional entries and other vocational guidance the  employment seekers of  Yanam region can approach this office  and get their needs done. They need not approach the Employment  Officer, Employment Exchange, Pondicherry for obtaining such  information.

1. The post of Employment Information Assistant,Yanam is vacant  since 10-3-1997. Since then the duties of Employment Information  Assistant is attached by Asst.inspector of Labour, Yanam. Thereis no PLAN scheme in this office.

2. While marking day-to-day registration, the Employment  Information Assistant, Yanam will provide employment  guidence/assistance to the employment seekers. He will make   registration, renewals, additional entries, re-registrations  etc., and transmit the same to the employment officer, Employment  Exchange, Ponhicherry for further registration and scrutiny at  their end.

3. If a registrant approach the Employment Information  and Assistant Bureau, Yanam along with all his original  certificates, the Employment information Assistant, Yanam will  scrutinise the records produced by the registrant and there after  admit the case for registration. After getting the particular  entered in the relevant index card and Identity card the same  will be submitted to the employment officer pondicherry along  with a statment in duplicate for further registration and  scrutiny at their end.

• Thus after making furter retain the Index  cards of yanam region candidates in the employment exchange,  pondicherry and arrange the cards in a sepreate live Register  according to seniority, category etc., and thereafter transmit  the identity cards to the Employment Information and Assistance  Bureau, Yanam for distribution of the same to the concerned  registrations.

• Similarly, the Employment Information Assistance,  Yanam will perform his duties in the case of additional entries,  renewals and also re-registrations. Therefore, it is understood  from the above, that the employment Information Assistant, Yanam  will act as an Agent/representative of the employment officer,  Employment Exchange, Pondicherry in providing assistance to the  employment seekers.

• Finally, it is informed that as all the Index cards of yanam  region (Live Registers) are maintained by the Employment  Exchange, Pondicherry the details about no.of Yanam candidates  waiting on the live register will be available only with the  Employment officer, pondicherry and moreover the Employment  Information Assistant, Yanam does not have powers to sponsor or  furnish  panel of names to any employer or department.

• Therefore,  if any department requires panel of names for any recruitment , they have to address the Employment officer, Employment Exchange,  Vazhudavoor Road, Gandhi Nagar, Pondicherry - 605009 along  with "Form for notification of vacancies" since they are only the  "SPONSORING AGENCY" in this regard.

• Any matter in connection with the  activites of the Employment Information & Assistances Bureau, Yanam can be addressed to the Employment Information  Assistant, Mini Civil station, Ground Floor, Yanam.
